Jazmin & Sebu’s wedding in Spiez, Switzerland was definitely a bucket list kind of wedding. It’s not often that you get to photograph a destination wedding in a one-thousand year old castle sat atop a hill overlooking an crystal blue lake. The entire day was straight out of a fairytale and I’d highly recommend it to anyone after Lake Como wedding vibes who doesn’t want the touristy crowds.

      Choosing to have their wedding in the Spiez Castle was special not only because of it’s stunning location, but also because it’s home to Sebu’s family and heritage.  And for those travelling from California with Jazmin and Sebu, it was a wonderful excuse for a holiday. I even got there a day early myself to walk around and treat myself to a gorgeous plate of pasta and Aperol Spritz on the lake.

      As for the mood of this magical Switzerland wedding, I would say that understated retro elegance describes it perfectly. Lovers of all things vintage, the couple thrifted many of the little details incorporated throughout the weddings from various thrift shops in California. To accompany the retro vibe, Jazmin put her bridesmaids and mother in muted shades of mauve and brown - perfect also for an early autumn wedding!

      After a beautiful ceremony in the Spiez Castle, the guests enjoyed a cocktail hour overlooking the lake whilst the bride, groom, and I took advantage of the perfect sunshine to get photos of just the two of them. After basking in the golden sunshine, we all headed to a local Swiss restaurant for a long evening of eating, drinking, and dancing.
